The Port of Tucson is Arizona’s active inland port providing international intermodal shipments in the Southwest.
Located Southeast of Tucson, Arizona, the Port of Tucson has provided Domestic Intermodal container transportation to the Southwest since 2004. Beginning in 2013, the Port of Tucson is now a destination and origin for International Intermodal shipments as well.
With intermodal transportation, companies can benefit from freight savings via rail without needing rail infrastructure to their building. After being placed on a chassis, containers can be loaded at the customer’s dock the same as any over the road truck. This container can then be loaded onto a train which reduces the shipping costs to the final destination.
