With intermodal transportation, companies can benefit from freight savings via rail without needing rail infrastructure to their building. ¬†After being placed on a chassis, containers can be loaded at the customer’s dock the same as any over the road truck. ¬†This container can then be loaded onto a train which reduces the shipping costs to the final destination.
